Priest stabbed to death in front of family at vicarage - Times (London)
A vicar was stabbed to death in front of his wife and daughter as he answered the door to his vicarage yesterday.

Dave Davies, a regular churchgoer, said: “Paul’s most remarkable achievement was how many children he brought into the church. A year ago you would have seen maybe three on a Sunday morning. Last week we had 29. Paul had 54 children taking confirmation classes with him. He love his classical music and was improving the choir, which is something he was so excited about.
“As a testiment to what he done for the parish, last Sunday he had a congregation of 200 across the three churches. That is an incredible achievement.” Marion Godsall, a parishioner, said: “He wasn’t just the local vicar. He was everybody’s friend. Whether you went to church or not, he was there for everyone.” ...
